About rabbinate

The offices of the Prague Rabbinate are located in the Jewish Town Hall

 at Maiselova 18, Prague 1.

The Chief Rabbi of Prague is Rabbi David Peter.

 

The primary mission of the Rabbinate is to ensure all religious activities of the Jewish Community in Prague and to provide spiritual services to its members, Jews living in the Czech Republic, as well as visitors to the country.

 

Main activities include:

- weekday, Shabbat and holiday services

- supervision of ritual mikveh

- provision of Jewish education, circumcisions, bar mitzvahs, weddings and funerals

- spiritual administration of Jewish cemeteries

- responsibility for kosher supervision and certification
